Description

The Civil Service Leadership Academy is a new approach to supporting senior leaders to be truly effective in the unique context of Government. In order to provide confident and powerful leadership, leaders need a depth of knowledge and understanding of the core disciplines that underpin the work of the Civil Service, and this seminar will help you understand your role in assessing legal risk, and how to work effectively with Government lawyers.

This free two-hour workshop is delivered by Diane Wills and Rachael Ahmed from the Government Legal Department and designed specifically for Senior Civil Servants. By the end of the workshop you will understand:

  • how to work effectively with Government lawyers to deliver Government policy;

  • your role in assessing legal risks before deciding on a policy or course of action;

  • how to make good decisions and what happens when decisions are challenged in court; and

  • when and when not to legislate.

This seminar sits alongside a range of other learning opportunities supporting Senior Civil Servants to provide confident and powerful leadership in a multidisciplinary environment, also available through the Civil Service Leadership Academy.

Please note: this event is only open to civil servants, so please register using your government email address.
